James Bond director Sam Mendes shoots new Spectre scenes inside London's iconic City Hall as filming resumes after Daniel Craig's set injury

Earlier this week, Daniel Craig returned to work on his anticipated James Bond movie, Spectre, following time off for a set injury.
And on Saturday, director Sam Mendes was seen making his way to London's City Hall as he prepared to shoot scenes inside the iconic building.
Carrying a warm beverage, the 49-year-old film-maker wrapped up for the crisp, sunny day in a black jacket cuffed jeans and a light grey scarf.

Star Daniel is reported to have recently undergone arthroscopic surgery to repair a knee injury he suffered on the set of the new movie earlier this month and he's now back on location in London.
A source told The Sun newspaper: 'Daniel is made of strong stuff and wanted to return as quick as possible.
'He filmed the face shots but his double was doing all the running. Daniel will have to take it easy until his knee is strong enough for strenuous sequences.'

It was previously claimed that the hunky star had not missed any filming to have his operation as the 'minor procedure' took place during a 'scheduled break'.
However, it was said he would not be rejoining production until April 22 when filming moved to London's Pinewood Studios.
Spectre - which also stars Christoph Waltz, Ralph Fiennes and Dave Bautista - has been filmed in a number of locations including Austria, Rome and Mexico City.
The last images seen from the spy movie set saw a stunt double performing in Daniel's place, grappling with another man in a moving helicopter.

Craig told the Jimmy Kimmel that he tries to do as much of the action stuff as possible.
'I don’t do all my stunts—I’d be lying if I said that. But I like the fact that occasionally that you’ll see on screen that it’s my face and it’s me,' he told the late night talk show host.
Daniel added: 'And I think audiences hopefully appreciate that. At least, I really hope they do.'

Car lover Craig also talked about the thrill of getting to drive the iconic Aston Martin DB5 but admitted he prefers to be driven by the professional on-set stunt drivers than handle the automobiles himself.
'On the movie I get taught to drive by these really great drivers,' he said. 'Every time we do one I drive a bit, spin it around a bit but the biggest thrill is having a really good driver take you on a course.'
'I giggle like a girl the whole way around,' he said to much hilarity.
The Sam Mendes-directed film marks Craig's fourth outing as Bond and is scheduled for release in November 2015.

No, Mr Bond, I expect you to die: How 007 would have been killed just seven minutes into the plot of Skyfall if movie was real

No, Mr Bond, I expect you to die: How 007 would have been killed just seven minutes into the plot of Skyfall if movie was real

  • Action heroes would almost certainly die if they were worked in real life
  • Medical experts have assessed several action heroes and their wounds
  • James Bond risked death several times during Skyfall and even cancer
  • Bond's DIY bullet removal left him at great risk of infection of paralysis
James Bond would have lasted just seven minutes into his last movie Skyfall before succumbing to fatal wounds from a uranium shot if the secret agent played by Daniel Craig was real.
A group of medical experts watched the 23rd outing for Ian Fleming's hero and concluded that Bond would have been unlikely to survive to the end of the two hour film, and would have died or been critically injured several times .
Within the first seven minutes, Bond is hit by a depleted uranium shell - an armour-piercing round normally used to destroy tanks that would almost certainly have killed the hero.

In a feature for Total Film, the medical experts examine several different action movies to see whether the man characters would have survived their ordeal.
Other movies to undergo the medical assessment were Die Hard featuring Bruce Willis. Unsurprisingly John McClane would not have survived. Share
According to the experts, Bond's depleted uranium wound would have been fatal as it 'would have turned his lungs inside out and killed him'.
In the unlikely event the massive round did not cause catastrophic injuries, the radioactive nature of the ammunition 'would greatly increase his cancer risk'.
Bond cheats death throughout the two hour film, including when he is locked in a gunfight on the streets of Istanbul as he attempts to chase villain Patrice for a hard drive containing details of undercover agents

Not that growing old gracefully was ever likely for James Bond, who at one stage performs surgery on himself to remove a bullet, where he 'risks blood loss, lack of consciousness, nerve and muscle damage'.
He also faces a significant risk of infection.
Even jumping from the roof of a speeding train into a river presents its own risks, which probably should not be tried by ordinary members of the public as he would likely 'sever his spinal cord or break his neck'.

THE NEAR-MISSES THAT WOULD HAVE KILLED JAMES BOND IN SKYFALL

7 mins - Bond is shot in the chest by a depleted uranium bullet, likely to kill. If he had survived this the radioactive qualities of the ammunition would have increased his risk of cancer.
12 mins - The action hero is shot and then jumps from the roof of a speeding train into a river. The height of this fall would be likely to break his neck.
31 mins - After being shot Bond bravely removes a bullet from his shoulder. This DIY surgery would have led to significant blood loss as well as damaged his nerves and muscles.
2hrs - Bond fights in an icy loch. While the temperature alone would have presented problems, fighting underwater would have significantly depleted Bond's oxygen supply and could have caused him to drown.
While James Bond's Aston Martin DB5 has survived since 1960, it is unlikely the man himself would have

However, filming the movie can prove slightly dangerous as Daniel Craig has recently required knee surgery after hurting himself while performing a stunt in his final Bond movie Spectre.
Even Home Alone would have produced three fatalities. Marv and Harry would have likely died within hours of the movie's end while Kevin would have been killed within the first third of the film after falling from some shelves.
However, Tom Hanks in Cast Away could have plausibly survived on a desert island for four years - as long as he escaped relatively unscathed from the plane crash. Although according to the experts, 76 per cent of the time he would have died in the accident.
While Bruce WIllis' character in Die Hard, John McClane, pictured, would not have made it to the fourth movie

THEY have already starred in their fair share of hit movies, and now Naomie Harris and Alice Eve have paid homage to three iconic films in a new photo shoot.

The British beauties teamed up to recreate classic shots from Thelma & Louise, Clueless and Black Swan in a new ad campaign for comparethemarket.com’s new rewards programme, Meerkat Movies.
Shot by internationally renowned photographer, Greg Williams, the two stars created a series of images paying homage to iconic film buddies to highlight the UK’s biggest ever two for one cinema ticket offer, Meerkat Movies, which is available for redemption from today.
Naomie, 38, and Alice, 33, were transformed into Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis' runaway characters from Thelma & Louise in the first shots.
One snap sees the actresses – who are themselves good friends – mimic a scene in the film when the twosome take a selfie together before they hit the road on their trip of a lifetime.

Another sees a denim-clad Naomie and Alice smoulder against a desert background, inspired by the film's setting.
In other photos, the pair go back to high school as they channel their inner teenagers to fill the platform heeled shoes of Alicia Silverstone and Stacey Dash's Cher and Dionne in Clueless inspired pictures.
The pair look like the Nineties personified in their plaid mini-skirt suits and knee high socks as they gossip on their primitive mobile phones.
Finally, the pair pull on monochrome leotards and tutus to emulate the black and white swans from Black Swan.

The dramatic shot sees Naomie and Alice adopt balletic poses as they depict both of Natalie Portman's personas from the 2010 hit film.
